Professional development at Shamima’s Workshops is based around three principles.

• Understand: Develop a stronger understanding of children's development, learning, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Reflect: Encourage practitioners to consider their current practice, experiences and professional decision-making.
• Apply: Turn learning into practical strategies that can be implemented within everyday Early Years practice.

The aim is not simply to complete a workshop. The aim is to help practitioners leave with greater understanding, increased confidence and practical ideas they can use in their setting.

Our sessions are designed to help practitioners understand not only what effective practice looks like, but also why it matters and how it can be applied. Sessions encourage practitioners to reflect on their own practice, share experiences and explore realistic strategies that support positive outcomes for young children. Professional development may focus on areas such as:

Every Early Years setting is different. Rather than offering only one-size-fits-all training, Shamima’s Workshops can work with nurseries and Early Years settings to identify professional-development priorities and develop sessions around the needs of their team. This may involve strengthening a particular area of practice, supporting curriculum implementation, developing practitioner confidence or responding to priorities identified through observation, reflection or quality-improvement planning.
